Warm weather and limited rain aided planting activities across the state. Statewide, the average temperature was 72.8 degrees, 2.4 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.14 inches, 0.78 inches below normal. There were 6.3 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending June 12. Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 1 percent very short, 17 percent short, 75 percent adequate, and 7 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 1 percent very short, 13 percent short, 77 percent adequate, and 9 percent surplus. Corn emerged was at 97 percent. Corn condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 20 percent fair, 58 percent good, and 17 percent excellent. Soybeans planted was at 90 percent, compared to 89 percent last year. Soybeans emerged was at 78 percent, up 12 percentage points from last week. Soybean condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 21 percent fair, 62 percent good, and 13 percent excellent. Winter wheat harvest was 1 percent complete. Winter wheat condition was rated 3 percent very poor, 8 percent poor, 31 percent fair, 48 percent good, and 10 percent excellent. Oats headed jumped to 66 percent, up 24 percentage points from last week. Pasture and range condition was rated at 1 percent very poor, 2 percent poor, 18 percent fair, 58 percent good, and 21 percent excellent.
